Had a satisfying lunch meet today. Well, yeah the food is great but the best part was that I get to meet my old friends from uni whom I still keep in touch with. That's more than 10 years of friendship. Since we are all working moms (including my friend who is pursuing her PHD while juggling 3 kids!), it is not often that we get to meet and gossip on what's what and who's who.
So, we decided (through Watsapp) to have lunch at Lil Penang since Dot (the future PHD) and myself were longing for kuay teow and cendol. Anin (the Banker) and Jai (expecting her 4th child this May) were pretty much okay with anything since we were all very hungry.
But before heading to Lil Penang, we met in Parkson since Anin broke her shoe strap and needed to get a new shoe ASAP! Oh my gosh, almost everything was 50% off! Thank goodness for self perserverance, I managed to control my 'animal instinct' and steer clear from trying or buying any shoes. Teehee... so proud! Anyways, I'm a big fan of Aldo and Charles & Keith so if I don't see what I like in these 2 shops, then I'll venture to the others. :)
So Anin got her shoes, we hurried upstairs to Lil Penang. Dayyum! Queue was really long so we decided to check out Madam Kwan. No luck. Down to Chili's.. no luck either as we had to wait for half an hour! Finally we settled in Dome. It was great to hear each other's stories.. from babies to kids... to PB to work stuff. We even managed to 'discuss' our domestic issues. We had so much fun that we forget to check our watches. How we wished we could skip work and continue chatting. We didn't have husbands prying on us, giving us signals to go back and we didn't have active kids running around, messing up our quality time catching up. BLISS :).
But reality kicked in, and we actually have responsibilities to attend to. Paid our bills and we parted ways. Auuw, missing them already. One thing's for sure, we promised to get together pretty soon. Probably do a pot luck and gather more friends and catch up. Good thing we have Watsapp. Keeping in touch virtually has never been easy ;).
